FAQs

1. Why has YHP separated from YCC to form Trinity?
There is a distinct difference between the way that YHP and YCC support service users. YHP provides supported housing, training and employment. YCC provides drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Although YHP and YCC are both faith-based, YHP demonstrates Christianity through its activities whereas YCC actively promotes Christian living and worship.

As an independent charity, Trinity will continue to provide all existing services.

2. Will my contacts at Trinity be different to YHP?
All contacts, telephone numbers and addresses will remain the same apart from the Training Offices which have moved from Coldharbour Lane, Hayes to 36 Baylodge, Harefield Road, Uxbridge, Middlesex, UB8 1PH.

3. Does Trinity have links with other organisations and charities?
Trinity works in partnership with Shaftesbury Housing Association and Vincent House Housing Association as well as other local homeless charities and training and employment services within the voluntary sector. We also work with The Furniture Reuse Network, Community Recycling Network, and The Association of Charity Shops.

4. Why was Trinity selected as the name?
The YHP management team conducted extensive staff and user consultations and worked with Vista Projects to draft definitions of the organisation’s core values, purpose and aims.   The name chosen for the new legal entity is ‘Trinity Homeless Projects’ and the charity will be known as ‘Trinity’.

The name ‘Trinity’ encapsulates a number of themes central to the identity and success of the charity:
The threefold value and character of the services provided by Trinity that produce a long-term solution to homelessness - supported housing, supported training and supported employment
The principle that Trinity provides support for people’s mind, body and spirit
The Christian Trinity – God the father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit

5. How is Trinity funded?
Supported housing is funded by Supporting People which is statutory government funding. Supported training is funded through The London Councils, Hillingdon Community Trust, The London Borough of Hillingdon Grants and Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities. Supported employment has two furniture shops and a removals firm which are income generating and therefore self-financing.

6. What are the mission and aims of Trinity?
Trinity Homeless Projects, ‘Trinity’ is a faith-based charity committed to working together in Christian love to support individual life transformation in those suffering the effects of homelessness and exclusion.

It believes that providing socially-excluded people with safe housing, training and employment is the only long-term solution to homelessness. Trinity works to support people so they can achieve independent living and long-term life changes.

Trinity’s approach is comprehensive. It is committed to providing a combination of dedicated services in supported housing, supported training and supported employment.

8. Who benefits from Trinity’s work?
